In the distance, you can see the Fairfield Causeway, which ran just south of town. To the right in the distance is the Fairfield Marina, which is just northwest of where the old bridge stood. In this photo, we’re standing … oh, directly north of town. This road takes you out onto old State Route 101. This site is about a mile south of the Franklin-Union County line, which was essentially where the old Redbud stood. (I didn’t measure the distance, OK? So … shoot me.)
